It’s the start of a new year and I was having thoughts on New Year’s
resolutions. Many people make lists and guilt others into doing the same. There are so many things that could be put on these lists, I decided this is perhaps the best time to forget making any at all!

Over the years, many people have been roped into making
New Year’s resolutions. Long, detailed lists and declarations are made with lots of hope. However, in the span of a week, these resolutions disappear slowly but surely. The items making the list include weight loss, gym memberships, career and relationship goals.
My thoughts on new year’s resolutions are:
- do them if you want to
- If you fail, start over; again and again. As one of my favourite quotes says “winners are the losers that never gave up”.
- I have also told: pat yourself on the shoulder when you accomplish anything. Encouraging yourself is the best motivation.

Though I did not seriously name my thoughts on this year’s new year’s resolutions – as in writing them down – I do have a few floating around in my head. Happy New Year 2025! Make it a great year.
