On my way to work today, I saw a child running ahead of his parents

on the street and was reminded of parents that cannot say no to their kids.  Despite many calls, the child ignored them and ran harder.  I was judging because I know I could not have pulled that stunt with my parents, especially while on a public street!

In the salon, we have many instances of parents that cannot say no to their kids.   A few instances

that this can happen are:

• Bringing the child to the salon and sitting by as they scream and writhe around, expecting the stylist to “manage”. 
• Demanding hairstyles but not having enough hair.
• Know their child cannot handle pain but they wait months to have their hair redone.
• Expecting you to take the loss when the cost of the style wanted is out of the parent’s budget.
• Tangled hair but expecting it to be detangled without pulling.

Those parents that cannot say no to their kids, perhaps leave thinking you are not being cooperative.  In any  industry, you learn to keep boundaries or lose money and time.  These parents are leaving the child unable to handle loss or disappointment and this can impact their lives in terrible ways.
