Being given the option to choose hairstyles for your face shape can
sometimes be a tall order for hairstylists. It is not that we cannot choose for you, it’s just that it may be one more unpaid act of diplomacy we often fall into!
Among the things that affects services on hairstyles for your face shape are:
Attitude:
We know when you will not like what we tell you and in trying to save your ego, we come off as unskilled to do that haircut. But, we both know you do not have the hair for that style.
Hair length:
Your hair may either be too long, too short or too thin to achieve the look. Some people like short hairstyles but are scared to lose the current length. In the early years, I would gladly use hair extensions for length. Today, people think we roll with Jesus. The expectations have blown through the roof! If you have one inch of hair, I will refuse. That other hairstylist did it? You really should go back to her.
Proper Hair Extensions
Buying low density hair for weaves etc. and expecting it to look like the billionaire celebrity that has on virgin, premium quality human hair is unacceptable. Also, buying heavy or thick hair extensions will have an impact on the outcome.
Buying Less Hair
When trying a new braid, weave, crochet braid etc. please ask the seller how many packs will do a full head. If you have less hair, the hairstyle will not look finished.
Color
If you are doing a color change, your skin color matters. Also, if your hair is left out, it has to match the color.

Your face shape may be: oval, round, diamond, oblong or heart shaped. However, this may
change if you gain weight, lose too much weight or have hair loss. This means you fix the hair based on what you look like now, and not when you were a teenager. I have had challenges with those experiencing hair growth changes because they want to part the hair as before.
Hairstyles for your face shape evolve as you age. It is not the end of the world. You just have to embrace the change.
